Kody is by Alvesta Picasso who stood at Daventry Equestrian for many years. Picasso was named the 2009 WPCSC Section B Sire of the Year and finished in 2nd place in 2010. This Farnley Lustre bred stallion has been a regular on the USEF Leading Pony Hunter Sire List for many years. In 2017, he was #46 on the USEF Leading Pony Hunter Sire list and #9 on the 2015 USEF Leading Pony Hunter Breeding Sire list. Picasso finished 26th on the 2018 USEF Leading Pony Hunter Sire List. Kody comes from a long line of successful hunter ponies. His full brothers in blood, Jumpin' Jack Flash and Glannant Jackpot, were successful pony hunters on the U.S. East Coast hunter circuit, and paternal half brother, Daventry's da Vinci, placed 13th overall out of 121 ponies at the 2015 USEF Pony Finals in the Regular Large Pony Hunters and in 2018 finished 7th Nationally for Large Pony Hunters in the United States.

Kody's dam, Pajon's Royal Flirt, is by the imported stallion *Rosedale Royal Flare, who has produced several successful pony hunters down in the US. Among them, Dreamworks, Bear Necessities, Royal Woodhaven and Top Zone 9 medium pony, Butterscotch Sundae.

Kody's full brother, Offside, was a multiple Canadian National Champion and Supreme Champion on the Welsh Pony circuit, including National Championships in Hunter, English Pleasure, Western Pleasure & Leadline. Full brother, Daventry's Breakaway, was very successful on the Welsh Pony Circuit, and at just 4-years-old, full brother Daventry's Overtime was packing his 9-year-old rider around the show ring, was 3rd Nationally on the WPCSC circuit and is now successfully showing in the pony hunters in Canada.
